The Dining Room

The Dining Room sounds like a cozy place to eat. And so it is, providing free meals to homeless people in a restaurant atmosphere.

Four days a week, The Dining Room provides meals for approximately two hundred hungry people, with volunteer wait staff, servers, cleaners and hostesses. Eugene Mennonite serves there two shifts a month. The homeless who eat there say that it is a relaxing, respectful atmosphere and they enjoy their stay.

Everyone gets a plate of food and a desert with either a meat or vegetarian entree with drinks. The volunteers are cheerful and happy to serve their homeless neighbors.
